JetStar from May to October 2011 is adjusting service between Australia and Japan. Planned service reduction as of 27APR11 as follows:

Cairns – Osaka Kansai Service maintains 3 weekly flights. However, selected flights are operating as Cairns – Gold Coast – Osaka Kansai routing
Cairns – Tokyo Narita Service maintains Daily flights
Gold Coast – Osaka Kansai
10MAY11 – 16JUL11 Service Reduce from Daily to 3 weekly (Day 236)
17JUL11 – 07AUG11 Service Reduce from Daily to 4 weekly (Day x145)
09AUG11 – 10SEP11 Service Reduce from Daily to 6 weekly (Day x5)
12SEP11 – 15OCT11 Service Reduce from Daily to 5 weekly (Day x57)
17OCT11 – 29OCT11 Service Reduce from Daily to 6 weekly (Day x5)
Gold Coast – Tokyo Narita
13MAY11 – 26JUN11 Service Reduce from Daily to 3 weekly (Day 157)
27JUN11 – 20JUL11 Service CANCELED
21JUL11 – 06AUG11 Service Reduce from Daily to 4 weekly (Day x127)
07AUG11 – 12OCT11 Service Reduce from Daily to 5 weekly (Day x12)
13OCT11 – 28OCT11 Service Reduce from Daily to 6 weekly (Day x2)
 
Thanks Mark. I fly up to either Narita or Osaka monthly so this is a bit of a bugger. The two trips since the earthquake have been through Cairns only (though the first one was booked through Gold Coast then called the night before to be told it was going through Cairns).

The other change is that though I book and pay for the trip as *class from MEl, I only get miles and SC's for Cairns to Narita and back. An email questioning this to Mr. Westaway here and to Jetstar has not so far produced a response.
