I am on JQ3 to SYD next Monday, and as a WP, am I eligible to use the kerb side check in at MEL?

I'd be interested to hear others' thoughts about this, but we did try to check in early at the SYD QF First check-in for JQ 29 at SYD and were advised that Qantas and Jetstar's check in systems were separate, so we'd have to wait for the (awful) JQ counters to open - and the JQ counters of course provide no recognition for status, only for Star Class.

So it would be my initial thought that you have to check in with your operating airline regardless of status, and QF and JQ are separate operating airlines. I imagine this might also apply if the operating airline is JQ, even if you are on a QF flight number.

The WP benefits only seem to suggest that priority check in is:

# Available on flights with a oneworld® Alliance airline flight number (Qantas, American Airlines®, British Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, Finnair, Iberia, JAL (Japan Airlines), LAN, Malév Hungarian Airlines, Mexicana and Royal Jordanian Airlines) operated by a oneworld® airline.

... which does not include Jetstar. So unfortunately, I would think that curbside check in is not available. A shame, but not as big a deal as lounge access I would imagine. Can't hurt to keep trying though, just don't count on it. ;)

No, as JQ don't use the QF systems for checking in etc. You need to queue up (and yes, I've tried).

I can also confirm no F check-in for plats on JQ.

The starclass check-in for JQ is Starclass pax and Chairman's Lounge members only.

And because elites QF flyers need to check-in the regular economy queues, it is vitally important to avoid the crowd and check-in very early if one wants to enjoy the FLounges.

... but no earlier than 3 hours, otherwise you'd be sitting around at the JQ check in with nothing to do. ;)

Is this a documented perk for CL? My wife work for a HC Judge who is a CL - he wasn't aware of this....

We had a discussion about this on another thread - is anything really a documented perk for CLs? It's basically understood that they have the highest priority on any Qantas group services. The Judge should definitely be able to take advantage of it on JQ, though obviously not out of CBR. ;)
