I am recently retired so am planning some domestic trips using only carry on luggage. Jetstar specifies on its website that max carry on sizes are 56x36x23cm. A non-Jetstar source quotes a max size of 115cm (adding all bag dimensions together), but I can't find any reference to this on the Jetstar website. So my question is: Is 23cm a hard dimension for Jetstar Domestic carry on bag depth, or is larger depth ok provided all dimensions total no more than 115cm?
Thanks

Solution
Jetstar is more fussed on weight rather than size however those limits are fixed and unlike Qantas, the dimensions are not based on the sum of all dimensions.

How much over the 23cm is the bag? As long as it's nothing stupid (and not overweight) then you should be fine. Typically they just measure the weight with portable scales although they do have baggage sizers so if it's clearly too large (or they're targeting a flight for baggage weighing) then they're likely to ask to check the baggage size.

Thanks very much for your help, I appreciate it. I am actually looking for a light weight bag and most seem to be 26cm or more. Cheers!
