QANTAS has received interim clearance from the competition watchdog to launch international flights for its budget airline Jetstar.

Qantas announced earlier this year that Jetstar would move into international air space, with its first venture – Jetstar Asia – to begin operating as early as November.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) today said Qantas (qan.ASX:Quote,News) had been given conditional interim authorisation to enter a cooperation agreement with the holding company of Jetstar Asia and Valuair, Orangestar Investment Holdings.

What a shocking piece of journalism, as we all know Jetstar Asia are already flying, the move was to integrate Jetstar and Jetstar Asias operations so that they all could benefit from the changes, the SMH article is better but it mentions the possibility of burning points with Jetstar Asia as being proposed, when in fact you already can!
