Jetstar Check In Melbourne To Ho Chi Minh

I don't see any way on the Jetstar website to enter my passport details etc, as I can't access the check in screens.

I think you can only do that from 48 hours before your flight?

It did work for me. For JQ7 MEL-SIN in business class, last week. I had booked it just a few weeks before my flight.

The BP had an impressive number of acronyms! :)

I did walk past the check-in area and asked the service desk, if, with HLO, I was good for “go straight to the gate”. I was. It all worked.

Same for my JQ7 earlier this year - I also asked if they needed to print my boarding pass and was saved on even though the boarding pass indicated "please print"

Well, I'm now in SIN, so I can let you know what actually happened.

I had to wait for exactly 3 hours before scheduled departure to check in at the kiosk. It printed a flimsy paper BP which got me through Immigration and into the FCL. When I went to the gate they exchanged it for a proper cardboard BP (why?). I asked my seatmate on the flight if he could check in online, and his experience was exactly the same as mine. Something funny going on.

I'm now in the BA lounge, waiting for my CX flight to HKG (I'll have to go to T4 shortly). The problem with my CX check in was resolved when I went to the CX help counter in T4 Departures, where the nice lady fixed things when I explained that I was only transiting MNL for a few hours, so didn't need a visa.

All's well that ends well.

You shouldn't need a visa in any case?

I agree, but the CX app wouldn't let me check in online without one. Substandard programming I think, but it had to be fixed manually by a CX agent.

I've done the same transit with inbound on Qantas, and no problems with online check in. Chinese programmers?
