there are options but which would require you to travel to another hub like SIN, CGK, SYD, KUL and add maybe another 6 hours to the flight.

Jetstar are having a few problems at the moment - I flew MEL-DPS on Saturday with QF but the Jetstar flight that afternoon was cancelled, MEL-Bangkok on Tuesday was an 8.5 hour delay apparently according to a friend.

@Melburnian1 opines that one possibility is because they are one international aircraft down and so the juggling of the fleet is having some negative impact.

Do the foreign based crew have ability to operate across aircraft types?
