Isn't that normal case for the jq 787s... Heck most of the QF widebody these days?

Yes, JQ7 and JQ8 are almost always the first to be cancelled.

The B788 rosters seem pretty tight.

I'm booked onto the semi-mythical JQ7 service in November connecting onto BA J. Am hoping it gets cancelled and I'm rebooked onto QF35 instead (or better still flying on rev fares right through).

(Don't want to have to break my habit of booking JQ for long haul international but not actually flying it )

They certainly have come out the heavy check with a million skin patches. I noted one at the terminal not that long ago looked a bit ugly with all the patches near the nose. Definitely crying out for a respray!
