Jetstar Boeing 787 refurbishment adding more Business Class seats

Did a bunch of searches on SYD-ICN and that's the earliest I can find it. So maybe the aircraft will fly out for paint in the next few days first.

ICN and Japan seems to have the most business demand so I’d be expecting to rotate around those routes. Japan has many sold out Business cabins for next month already.

An OTT question: Which row is better on JQ flight - row 1 or row 2? Row 1 has a bit more leg room, but cannot put carry on bag (has to go overhead) and no one can recline into your space. Row 2 has less leg room and can put carry on underneath seat in front, and row 1 can recline ...
Defo row 1!!

Your bag in the overhead is only for a few minutes during take off and landing.

The recline in JQ business is very generous, if you’re in row 2 you’ll struggle to get out of your seat to go to the WC if the person in front has reclined.

Also, if you have a regular sized rolla-board… once the cabin quietens down to a snooze, you can prop that in front of you in row 1 and you have a horizontal leg rest, Makes snoozing so much easier!

It's actually a very efficient refurb at +23 J and -33 Y for a net loss of 10 seats, but also adding a crew rest.

I'm not sure how many seats are blocked for the crew rests on the longer Japanese and Korean flights (it's two In J on the medium distance flights).

Unlike the released map for JQs 321XLRs which are +12 J -36 Y to the 321LRs, though I believe with slightly more pitch in Y for the longer missions.

All 787 flights (excluding Domestic) have two J seats blocked for tech crew.
Longer 787 routes (think SYD-HKT +) have two Y seats for cabin crew blocked.
Additionally, all 787 flights have several seats around the aircraft blocked as available crew rest, however these are released when needed.
