The announcements will see Jetstar become the only airline to operate direct services on both routes.Jetstar is adding two new direct routes to its Australian domestic network, with daily Gold Coast-Mackay services starting June 28 and four times weekly Melbourne-Ayers Rock flights commencing on June 29.

Jetstar launches New Route- MEL > AYQ (Uluru /Ayers Rock)

It's been quite some time since a direct route to the Red Centre from Melbourne.
Interesting reading the press release from JQ as the Sydney flight to become daily at the end of June!

Great to see that Tourism appears to be on the up for the Red Centre!

I find Gold Coast > Mackay a strange pairing , especially for a daily service . Thats 1200+ seats each way a week ??????? I don't think so.

Back in the late 80's they use to do MKY-OOL return. Wasn't a big plane.

Gold coast has a large resident FIFO population flying into the Bowen Basin.
