it would be good if SQ buy HNA shares. least than it will give qantas run for there money

IMO this country allows too many one party states to own critical infrastructure / businesses.

That's not going to happen anytime soon with the SIA groups 81% profit drop in their recent reporting period for the last quarter, which in addition to fuel prices for that period being a contributor to the profit drop, one of the other reasons for SIA group's profit drop is also being attributed to their 20% stake in VA.

Maybe some validity to this, but I wonder what VA would like today without such ownership (maybe smaller, but profitable?). But I think I’d sooner have one party states owning such businesses than private equity ... who knows what might have happened to Qantas if the private equity buyout of them just over a decade ago had gone through.

Based on what we saw this week the 737 business class bookings are struggling but the A330 business class is getting supported. It will be interesting if the new CEO can get the clunky website working a bit better.

It's just inconsistency. I've been looking at some flights for the rest of the year between PER and MEL, there are quite a number of days where VA are operating 5 x daily but only one of those services are A330.

Website is clunky but getting better as time goes on. Personally would rather efforts be focused elsewhere, I.E. maintaining value in the Velocity program, and sorting out the international strategy for the airline.

I have a choice this next week of QF10 as a 787 in PE or a very late into MEL on a VA330 in J.
Mrscove wants the earlier flight and I wanted the VA Suite. Arriving earlier does mean that getting to work the next morning is easier especially with two evenings events planned.
