just thought i'd let you know there are some cheap QF JASA's SYD-JNB available for December 2013 - just managed to book one for 84k points and $450 one way - jsut need to earn some more points to book the return leg. Last time i booked this flight i paid 84k points and $900 cash so its defintely worthwhile. thanks to AFF for all the knowledge about ASA's, i will renew PS for the first time this year. Status run with AA is still on my bucket list to make SG one year at least.
For the same December trip, i am also booking the mrs and child via AAdvatage points. managed to buy 90k each with the bonus this month and aiming to get another 20k via SPG next month to complete the 200k points transaction for return Business (pity no points earn on any carrier though) - QF was just too expensive and almost impossible to find 3 seats on a JASA.
