Dear All

Is it possible to do the following, as seems possible reading the fare rules.

I was going to book a JASA from HBA - SYD - CBR online, which is all done in one day, however can I book this and then ring Qantas a push back the SYD - CBR to another day? As I live in Syd and prefer to do the SYD- CBR a week later.

I was booking for 2 adults, 1 child and 1 infant.

Thanks

I’ve also wondered similar, but surely that would change the booking to a stopover, which might not be included in the price you are being quoted. It might incur an additional fee, or simply not be allowed.

others may have a different experience, however ive been hit for 5k point fee on each *ASA change. YASA, JASA and FASA. Sometimes it can be worthwhile to pay the fee...

It would depend on the fare conditions for the underlying fare. I have not had any fee whatosever for changes on a domestic JASA - but then the fare is fully flexible. The conditions on an international JASA clearly spell out change and cancellation fees.

This is interesting. I had always assumed that the reason you could get the JASA from Canberra to Hobart via Sydney for 16,000 points plus cash, was because you had to take the flights same day, and as there were no direct flights. I therefore assumed, maybe wrongly, that if you booked flights on separate days, or tried to change the second leg, you would be charged for two separate flights, which I assume would be 32,000 points plus cash.

Does sound as if Rotuma1 will be the guinea pig!

I also would have thought they would reprice and there would be a fare difference. Guinea pig needed

Any update on this one? I would expect you'd have to have both flights with < 24 hours connection, else it's a stopover and incurs a reprice. Be interesting to see if you could overnight in Syd.

BTW it's 16k because HBA-CBR is below 600 miles, even though you fly more than that to get there via SYD. HBA-ADL has no direct flights and must go via MEL but is above 600 miles so costs the zone 2 amount.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

also very interested to know the outcome would open up some new possibilities:rolleyes:

Qantas transfers for Domestic Itineraries generally need to be "Same Day", except for specific defined routes.

It's on international itineraries the 24 hour rule generally applies.
