Are you aware that there is only D,I,J and C class for domestic business class, what happens to earning points & SC on U class flying after 1 July, or maybe they will not be available to purchase even up to 30th June?

Long story short, no more JASA's in U class after 1st July, however, if you made a booking in U prior to the end of last week for travel after 1st July it'll credit as it would have. If you make a booking this week in U for travel after 1st July it'll credit under the new earning tables... even though it isn't listed as earning. That's at least what I got out of Red Roo's post here.

Thank you, yes Red Roo says that you will earn (for U class MASA) as per the "new rules" after 1st of July ( for bookings made between now and 30th June) , only problem is that U class is not listed as one of the classes that earn points or SC after 1st July, so in effect he could be saying that we would earn them as per the new table, but the new table says ZERO? I called service desk today and received two different answers from two different "advisors"

I would assume what has been posted would mean you would earn points/SC, despite the lack of U being listed. Perhaps someone can ask this question at the lunch next week.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Look at the bottom of the "Arline Earning Table" (Yes - right at the bottom, after all airlines have been lists - virtually hidden well away):

I think that's OK, so a booking could be made on say 27th June 2014 (subject to availability) for travel on say 3rd June 2015, and the points and SC would be credited after the flight, although I am not sure if they would be rewarded with "the old" or "new" points but the SC calculation is probably the same.

Ahhhh...the new simplicity at work again!

Hang on though...this table says you earn on those MASA classes for bookings made by 30 June - not that you must fly by 30 June...

Yes, continue booking until end of June 2014 and continue earning until 1st July + 353 days :p

I wonder what would happen in the following case, a U ticket was booked prior to 30th June for travel in say November and in July there was a requirement to change the date of travel, but there are no more U class, do you think QF would move the date? ( or would you be stuck and have to cancel the ticket for a full refund?)

If you are referring to U availability, is it different if the flight is now (before July)? If you need to change your U ticket, and there are no U seats left, what are your options now?

Don't forget U continues to exist from July onwards, it just that you can only book them as classic

As others have mentioned "U" class will still be there for Classic Award bookings in Business Class however as long as your ticket was issued prior to 30 June 2014 you'd be able to change the ticket as per the fare rules. If/when booking a JASA for departure ater 01 July I would ask the CSR on the phone to enter the fare rules re flight changes in the remarks field of your pnr so if calling to change the next CSR can see those comments.

I find the paragraph misleading in the T&C when it says "Qantas flight segments booked in X, U, Z or P classes are eligible to earn points and status credits only when booked as part of a Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award created on or before 30 June 2014" as it doesn't state whether this includes flights booked for travel after 01 July 2014.

I don't get you..It is in a section of the T&C entitled "Qantas and Jetstar Airline Earning Table - for travel on and from 1 July 2014". I would take this to mean that it is for flights booked for travel on and from 1 July 2014.

Have you got the link for that paragraph as I was going off the table in-situ in Serfty's post #6 of this thread & I can't see any specific reference to an earning table for travel on or after 1 July 2014.

I've either had a 'boys look' or I need to go to Specsavers.

Just in case I decided to get to Lifetime Gold on a series of MASAs by 30th June. Today I do a circle of a bit of Australia for 400 status credits seeing it was my last day that I could use a double status credit offer.
