Just looking at some options on SYD or MEL to/from DXB in November (using JASA as no FASA available on Saver fares)

It seems some availability on QF metal at expected Saver points (DXB/SYD QF2 at 141k points) but all the QF flight numbers on Emirates metal are over 500k for Business saver

Has anyone found a QF JASA/FASA on Emirates metal at QF metal points pricing?

I wonder if using QF points will ever get us on an Emirates aircraft at same points pricing as QF metal????

I cant imagine Emirates J class in these examples (I have tested a few scenarios), means they have such high levels of J bookings at this time of year that they cant release seats at same price as QF

After all they are "Business Saver" seats just like the QF seats

See sample below DXB/SYD (I am WP for the record in accessing these samples)

I think/hope there are still some problems with the pricing. Even the QF ASA prices to/from DXB are running at 300% plus - i am trying to book a one way from DXB-MEL. There is definitely availability according to ExpertFlyer but not from QF pricing perspective!

QF do not have any award seats on EK metal yet, until the ACCC approves the partnership in full.

No, there wont be any "cheap" JASA/FASA on EK metal because award seats will be booked using EK flight number, not QF codeshare.

Until official ACCC approval, I would assume that they can't officially match prices and any QF award seats on EK metal would be in revenue fare buckets and not award fare buckets. I assume this because when QF changed a JASA which had original routing SYD - SIN - FRA - FCO to SYD - DXB - FCO with the DXB - FCO leg on EK metal the ticket was booked on what appeared to be a C fare bucket.

Is there any chance the ACCC might not give approval for this QF / EK tie up?

If ACCC don't give go ahead many travel ans will be in disarray. BA will be loving it though

I couldn't imagine why not? commercial arrangements are required to be flexible

Not really. A lot of the changes could be made whether approval came or not (e.g. routing through Dubai rather than Singapore).

The ACCC are really going down to the wire on the timing of final approval (or otherwise) though....
