And its not the first time this has happened. This one is of a Delta L1011 from quite a few years back.

Haha that makes for a good laugh actually. Wonder how much damage it would have caused though?
depends if it went far enough in to hit any blades. I can only assume they were rotating reasonably fast at the time to suck up a container like that. Its a good thing nobody was standing in front of it at the time!

Now imagine if the engine was slightly larger in diameter, such as a GE90-115! Now that beast could pull the whole container in without hitting the nacelles! Have a look at the diameter of the GE90.

Just got to show why its not good to be a person anywhere near a spooling up engine ! or else you could end up like birds do....

At least they had the good grace to pick up one of their own that time :-) It was a LAN luggage unit that JAL grabbed.

I wonder if the pilots will have the same consequences as those Emirates pilots in Melbourne lately. Even if the unit was in the wrong place, the pilots still need to be careful of we're they're moving.

Oh:!: looks like a hungry monster and wants to eat more.:)

I guess it's not as expensive as paying insurance and damage for a lost life. Thank God it didn't happen.

Amazing. Sometimes we take it for granted and don't realise how much power is actually generated by aircraft engines.
