And if you haven't done so before, I highly recommend visiting the JAL Sky Museum. You get to get up and close at both of JAL's maintenance hangars at Haneda.

Pics from earlier this month with an A350 having an engine repair, the Disney Sea 767 arriving and a 77W being given a once over.

The tour is very well managed, with strict safety requirements and conducted in Japanese. However, you only really need your eyes 😍
I have a full Thursday layover at HND early next year and these posts caught my eye.

Research indicates bookings can only be made a calendar month in advance and require diligence as they fill up in minutes.

Do any have thoughts, tips, tricks etc. on doing these tours?

The bookings open up exactly one month in advance at 09.30 JST so need to be on ready on the dot.

Fortunately there are usually three times to pick from, so as long as your fast with a mouse and keyboard - and you’re ready and waiting when the booking opens you should be able to get a slot for the day you want.

Suggest some practice runs in advance as there is a bit of information to complete (have that on hand in a word doc or similar to cut and paste) as you don’t want to be looking around as the bookings fill up.

Thanks, I'll start practising.

I see they are going to start charging ¥1,000 from November. Nominal I guess, may also reduce no-shows.

As indicated, only day I had available was a Thursday which reduced public bookings to "Business class meal" & tour which I managed to book for a cost of ¥8,000.

You start with a browse of their exhibition area and shop followed by a meal, a couple of videos are shown and then a,guided tour of the hangars. All up it takes about 2.5 hours. I guess Japanese like their beef - the patty with red wine jus & and herb butter was pretty good, but If a choice of just the tour is available, my advice is to take that.
