I see that on JAL website they are advising re downtimes due to the imminent migration of their passenger services system on November 16. A quick Google tells me that JAL signed with Amadeus a couple of years ago for them to move on to the Altea system. Is that what QF uses? Does this mean possible online availability of JAL award tix on the QF website and being able to check flght details etc on QF MMB in future?

Awesome, I missed that Ausbt report so thanks for the link. This had me LOL "This will include support for Qantas’ traveller-friendly calendar reward search tool", they are kidding right? More like "buggy calendar that shows phantom availability just to tease you".

The split legs in lower classes is the thing that ticks me off. Especially with no status, when searching it gets you all excited that there are premium cabin spaces on this route, oh but only the 1.5hr flight is in Business & the other 10hr flight you can sit in economy - but we'll take the full Business class award points!!

Not sure if it's related but a few weeks back my JAL booking also showed up when I logged into my QF account. I can see flight information etc but can't choose seats. That's still done on JAL site. QF only allows options of Window or Aisle.

They announced the GDS change a few years ago. They've been planning it since 2014.
To date, JAL has had domestic bookings and international bookings done through 2 different systems. This change fixes that.

The annoyance of this is that QF could fix this if they wanted to (by hiding availability unless for full trip) and/or by adjusting the reward point requirement....

They don’t take the full business class points anymore.
