hi all, we are Qantas FF's but have booked flight to Europe on JAL.
Is there any benefit in signing up for the JAL MB (free).
I am interested in getting better seats but I'm told are locked out.
Does MB membership give priority in seat allocation.
We were going to add any points to QF FF.

What cabin are you in? Y, J or F?

Do you have a status with QF?

QF Bronze only, not a business flyer.
Travelling K class economy ticket, the TA said it would give a better chance of preselecting seats. The accessable seating is fairly limited on the seat map. Most is blocked out. I was after the two seat rows up the back.
My question is- does MB membership give better access for seat allocation.
I realise that seating arrangements may change before departure.

AFAIK, it is status that gives you better chance of preselecting seats.. not the fare you are on. I'd be having a stern word with your TA..

Of course, someone correct me if I'm wrong :)
