JAL 777-300ER back on Sydney route

Does anyone have experience of how bulkhead seats 23C and 23H are on the 777-300?

From what I can tell, the seat's legroom extends into the aisle/door leading to PE cabin. Is regular foot traffic likely to be bothersome if I pick one of these seats?

On Japanese sites they are saying that JAL has stopped the disposal of the 777 due to slow delivery on new aircraft. So we may see the 777 back

Hopefully! I need JAL to redeem themselves as had a horrible experience in F with them

Sounds intriguing. I’ve had some great flights with JL, although not in international First with JL unfortunately. Perhaps I should just stick to Business.

I found the hard product really nice. The food eclectic, entertainment limited and the service is really nice but not as friendly as the people can be.
Would I fly them again..yes..

We had average food that was cold, service was not attentive and very very slow (in comparison to EK & SQ F service)

We have only flown J with them once from HND-GMP and didn't love it, only 1 meal choice and only white or red wine for a 2 hour 20 min flight in comparison to a SQ flight from BKK to SIN which is the same flight time had full service.

We were trying to get onto a ANA or Asiana flight but no luck

not specifically- but just for reference 23A,B and JK are so far from the bulkhead you will struggle to reach it unless you slide down your seat in a weird way or your well over 6'4" heights. So with C and H, you likely won't get too bumped by the cabin crew going through.

You're basically sitting in the aisle

Call 131211. Do you have any other flights on the PNR? What class are they in?

It's should be an easily handled issue if you just have the single downgraded flight on the PNR.
I've got another domestic flight on the same PNR but it is in U. The Syd to HND sector is showing J(which is odd).

I rang 131211 and got the same generic answer-ring back after I have flown but I mentioned the initial sector was priced as J and they're transferring me to refunds but it's been a 30 min wait!!

Update:Got through after waiting for 40 minutes and they have offered a refund of the points. Fingers crossed it turns up as they say it can take up to 7 business days!

Hmmm, I have flown a number of times with them in J between SYD-HND/NAR-HEL over the last few years and the food and service has been exceptional everytime.

At 191cm, my only complaint is the legroom when lying flat doesn't really do it for me on the 787. Have a few flights coming up in Sept/Oct, hoping the 777-300 currently listed sticks.

I’m inflight right now on a JAL 787-9 Sky Suites III.

I don’t rate the hard product. Having flown on the QF 787 yesterday from SYD I feel I can make a good comparison. It feels much more cramped, especially at the shoulders, and less private (at least compared to the QF window seats where I sat yesterday).

No mattress topper, pillow is flat as a pancake, amenity kit extremely basic, no PDB offered. Meal portions are tiny.

Pros, friendly FAs and free wifi. Food was very good, just not enough of it. It’s not terrible but I don’t think I’d rate them above QF, and I would have only ranked QF as mediocre.

I’ve heard the A350 has a much better seat so that might change the dynamics.

I'm useless at identifying plane models (plus they kept getting switched out) but the JAL we flew out of Sydney on last month had the worst J seats ever experienced. Very hard. So much useless infrastructure. Little space for putting stuff. Pillows were flat as and in a huge pillowslip which was kind of a furry material and I ended up sitting on it. No where else to put it that was accessible if needed. Made my skin crawl. A day flight fortunately. On the return we had those unusual J seats with the two at the window with the tiny corridor for the window aisle access. Completely different experience and so much better even though I'd read the window seats felt cramped. Haven't flown QI in ages.

Agreed, sky suites III is horrible, feels very cramped for a business class product.

The JL a350 has its flaws (difficult to operate tray table, the control strip light doesn't turn off) but overall it's a nice product.
