As per the title, has anyone had any luck with upgrading one sector on a two sector PNR?

I'm toying with BME next year but PER-BME does not have J so does that mean I'd have to separate the bookings?

Since the move to SABRE I believe all upgrades are single sector only.

o you should be find (pending Z availability) to upgrade on a single flight between the East coast and PER, even if on the same booking.

Thanks serfty. I recall someone previously stating they lived in Rocky so pretty much everywhere except BNE was a two sector flight and they were not permitted to use their upgrades on the second sector which did have J availability simply because of the connection style booking. Are you saying Sabre has changed that or that because of the change to each sector costing and awarding as per a separate flight?

Can't really 'say' (or 'state') anything for certain.

I can only conject - and my conjecture is that it is possible VA decided to somewhat enhance this facility using the SABRE conversion as a reason. They certainly could have kept it if they had wanted to.

Of course, in this case it's a benefit ... one of the few I guess.

Good news. I had a lot of issues out of ROK and GLT back in the day. Glad it's been resolved as it was a somewhat stupid system

Thanks for the replies. I agree it has changed for the better!

Just adding to the chorus, was able to upgrade the BNE-MEL segment of a TSV-BNE-MEL itinery, but having said that business class is available the whole way. Had to book the whole thing in flexi of course, but still, comp upgrade is a comp upgrade.

Also adding to the noise, just booked a OOL - MEL - PER trip on a flexi and upgraded the MEL - PER sector today, now here's hoping it's not Awful, Broken or a subbed 737 operating the leg!
