I'm looking for 3 Business class award seats for GLA-DXB-SYD anytime in the first week of January 2015. A quick check on expert flyer for EK has a minimum of 7 business seats on their twice daily GLA-DXB sector under their flex award booking class O pretty much every day. They also have decent availability on DXB-SYD on the QF code share. When checking expert flyer for QF they have nothing available.

Is it usual for EK to have availability on QF metal but for QF to show nothing available on expert flyer. A change of job has meant going from QF Gold to bronze in 2 years due to weekly flying on VA but I still have 800k points to burn. I don't suppose a phone call to QF would open up any availability?

Availability might be constrained to point of sale, have you tried looking at UK POS settings or checking Qantas.com?

3 business class award seats in the first week of January 2015 is a tough ask.. Is peak travel time. You may need to split to 2+1 or 1+1+1 on different flights. DXB-Australia is always harder due to the many EK flights xx_-DXB. They all funnel into the DXB-Aust flights. Have you looked/tried on the QF web site? After all its QF who sell revenue/award flights and not ExpertFlyer. Have read there are limitations with awards on codeshares. May need to be the carrier flight number Best by far to phone QF

Looks like a glitch with Expert Flyer. QF website was showing zero availability and a quick call confirmed this. Changing to QF website in the UK and US didn't work unfortunately. Skywards showed no availability on EK. May have to look at coming back on 30/31 December.
