I've finally made it to Silver and it's all thanks to the valuable knowledge and help from everyone on AFF!
My next trip is to Japan in Feb which will take me to Gold which I never imagined I would achieve.

So...
A BIG Thank You to all those AFFers who have helped me on my way ;)

BTW - all my travel is self funded with a mix of $$$ and JASAs and I have had lots of fun on the way.

Congrats Fifa,

Enjoy the new status and onwards to the next level.

Congratulations Fifa. Well done.

The self funded bit does make it just a whole lot harder.

Welcome to Silver fifa. As someone else who's made the hard SFSC slog to Silver I know how elated you must be.

Just a shame this year, the one year I absolutely romped it in for PS qualification is the same year they dropped the initial qualify level down 50SC. You win and lose.

Well done on making Silver! Hopefully the journey continues upwards for you!

Congrats, I also made Silver this year, back to OneWorld Ruby, the highest OneWorld level I’ve held, so far.

Onward and upward. The dizzying heights of SG await you and then the rarified atmosphere of WP.:p

Congrats on Silver!

Onward and upward to higher status levels!

Thanks Everyone.

I've now decided that I never want to go "back"!

Well done mate, harder being self funded.

What IYHO is the. Best benefit for you at the PS level?

Nice one Fifa! :)

I know you'll never want to go back. ;) - hopefully you won't have to.

Thanks Everyone.

Congrats on making it to silver, those JASA's do make it a little easier,

If you go back to nothing bronze it might mean you no longer want to fly to the status won't matter.

Well done on gaining Silver. I'm no where near myself.

Don't want to take anything away from the moment, but I just have to ask, what silver benefits are you looking forward to? I have read up and there appears little for me to look forward to as I strive for Silver status myself. Seems upon first read that one must attain Gold to get decent benefits.

Advance seat selection, NGCI checkin and associated (no need to print a boarding pass when OLCI) benefits, 25% bonus points… all good.

I just got to Gold myself, and moved up a few rows on exiting 737 bookings and about 9 or 10 rows on 767 bookings.

Spot on!
Plus free baggage allowance on AA, but I should be WP by the time we go to the US.

Note that if on an international itinerary, you get 'free baggage' on AA in any case.

Yes, thanks.
We are doing a couple of repositioning flights in Y before/after a SC run so should come in handy.

The free baggage in the US on AA is well worth it, arguably one of the best benefits as it can save many dollars.

My partner also appreciates the dedicated check in, at least for now.
