Planning that family vacation, anniversary with a loved one or time out for rejuvenation? From 1 April to 13 May, book a stay at any of our 26 participating Hilton Worldwide hotels across 22 destinations in Asia Pacific and you will be rewarded with up to USD500 in hotel credits...
Valid for Cairns, Surfers Paradise, Fiji, Lake Taupo & Queenstown.

I have booked 8 nights in May at Fiji resort in a 1 BR beachfront for approx $280 AUD pn on the AA rate. (prices have since gone up by around $60 pn). I'm tempted to cancel and book a beachfront studio for an AP rate of around $270 pn.
From reports here we should safely expect an upgrade to a 1 BR beachfront studio - so will save $80 AUD and and gain a $500 USD credit.

I didn’t realise the Queenstown hotel was complete… but if it’s open in time for the ski season I can’t warn anyone enough not to book it. It’s located beyond the airport, on a site that gets sun for about an hour a day in the winter. It’s no where near town!

Wow - I never knew it was actually happening either! I thought the project was done and dusted!

They are charging way too much for what it is and the poor location!

It's about a 25 min drive from Queenstown central where all the restaurants are!

FAIL

I’m not sure 25 minutes, depends on traffic I guess, but it’s certainly far enough out you wouldn’t be walking into town. Good for plane enthusiasts though, you’ll have a great view of planes landing over the lake. :D

Hmmm true, probably 15 or so from memory!!!

Still a pain in the behind, BUT it's closer to the Remarkables ski area, which is a VERY nice place to ski

We’re massively off-topic, but already got my season pass for this year, and if you want one you better buy soon at the early-bird rates. And don’t need to be that close, I’ve got from central Queenstown to the base building in about 40 minutes before :D

Anyone got a full link to this? Maybe I haven't been reading my regular HHonors subscription properly...

So how I understand this is:
  • You need to book a specific rate at a participating hotel in the promotion period
  • You need to stay a certain number of nights
  • The more nights you stay, the larger credit you'll get back
  • The credit is paid onto your folio at checkout

Essentially, is it crude but accurate enough to say this deal is like, "Pay and stay for 7 nights, get US$500 off"?

Look at it another way. You're in one of the most Southernmost places in the world, assumed secluded away from most of the ruckus and the rest of the world.

That's a great recipe for a couples quiet getaway (possibly a more 'adult' one) or a de-stress weekend without much distraction. Then again, perhaps Lake Taupo would be just as good, cheaper and more accessible.

Many better places to stay in and around ZQN that are in better spots and more easily accessible. It’s a dog of a development :p

[FONT=&quot]The link is here - although I haven't seen it in a my way email or on the HH page - only here on AFF.

[FONT=&quot]Essentially yes. You need to book via the promo page, as it books with an "APAC" promo code. You also have to pay with credit card at time of booking and all the AP rate conditions apply.

I had embedded the link into the title image in my previous post as simply using the link merely showed up as hilton.com. Maybe it was not obvious.

I'll repost it here:

I'm hoping so. About to book 7 nights in Fiji - just checked exclusions again and no APAC ...

Yes, me too. I'll do the homework this evening. Theres been some recent positive chatter about the Fiji Beach Resort and Spa (managed by Hilton) - pretty tempting now with 500$ off + the possibility of some extra free points.
