Doing some trip planning from Southern California to Cleveland,OH, then from Cincinnati back to So. Cal.
Instantly think Southwest is the way to go with the free checked bags , but just thought I would price it with AA and lo and behold AA comes out cheaper by a couple of hundred dollars (even allowing for checked bag fee).
Just goes to show it pays to compare options, and not just go with your thoughts.

The majors are much better with price matching the low cost players I’ve noticed in recent years. The free bag option, plus free changes, generally will sway me towards Southwest, but the last batch I booked, was with Delta as they seemed to be price matching WN.
