Random question - I know that there is often an idea with Y class that you can book qt "x" time and generally get better deals. Would I be correct in thinking that considering the cost of those seats, the issue isn't strategic release, but sheer availability (except the QF on EK metal which have a bad habit of not having business saver/sale). So assuming we don't wait until the month before (we're going in late November) ... there really isn't any real pressure to book too early.

Keep an eye on the various airline sale fares, and when one of them is at a price you are happy to pay, book.

There are a number of cheaper options if you want to consider AI or UL.

And in addition to JessicaTam's good advice, here's my tip. Once you find a fare you're happy with and book, stop looking!

Murphy tends to offer cheaper fares right after you book and it'll only end in tears.
