I have just been told by the TA that she is unable to provide me with a QF coded flight, so has instead booked the ticket with an EK code

EK090 (QF8090) Geneva to Dubai
EK432 (QF8432) Dubai to Brisbane (via Singapore)

Not leaving until 2nd June, but from what I can gather, the bookings have been made.

Is there any reason why she would not be able to get the QF coded flights? I can go via the Qantas website and see the flights just fine.

I am not aware of any reason she would not want me to fly QF, since all the flights on the way over to Europe are using QF codeshare via Dubai.

Thats what I thought initially, but then why not EK all the way?

If you need the SC and/or lounge access via Qantas club then I'd be getting myself another TA.
Can't understand why you could see it on the website but they apparently can't or won't book it.

Yeah, it was about using QC for lounge access in both Dubai and Singapore.

I don't fly enough to get status with the SC's i earn :)

Is there any reason why you didn't just purchase the flights yourself when you were on the Qantas website?

Is there a reason you have to stop in SIN on the way back? The direct DXB-BNE flight is a far better choice, if not.

Are you stopping over in Dubai? The EK deal doesn't allow the QF flight number out of some countries if there is a stop over. But even if that is the case, it only applies to the Europe to Dubai leg. You can still use the QF number to Australia.

Could it be that they arent available at the same price? QF fare class availability might be more expensive.

It's not on my buck and if I buy them I wont get paid back for them. TA is booking for the whole group.

The direct would be good, as everyone in the previous post told me (A380 better than 777-300 by 1"), but I don't want to hang about the airport without lounge access for 10 hours, so I'd rather just get home 6 hours earlier.

Nah, just transitting. Geneva-Dubai flight gets in at 23:35 and next flight Dubai-Brisbane is 02:45

Last time I was part of a group booking with the same group, the same TA gave me a chance to change a booking and pay the difference, and has for other items on this current booking also.

Maybe its just me :)
