Hi all!

Managed to snag a Qantas redemption flying EK F to Singapore. I realize I will have access to the Qantas First lounge (can't wait!) but was wondering whether it is worth checking out the new EK lounge as well? From what I've heard, the Qantas First Lounge is going to be hard to beat.

Thanks in advance.

If you have time you can pop in out of curiosity, but the F&B in the F lounge are definitely better (as is the decor!)

In a word, No. Those QF F lounges are right up there and every EK lounge looks and feels the same to me.

As stated, maybe afford yourself a quick visit to EK to cater for curiousity. But a person needs to spend no more than 15 minutes there if QF F is available.

I popped my head into the MEL EK lounge just before Christmas, where I appeared to know the access rules for QF flyers better than the front desk staff. There was a decent beef carpaccio, comfy enough seats and great apron views. Certainly IMO a better option than the QF J dungeon.

Presumably though the new EK lounge would be preferable to the QF J lounge for those without F access

I agree to a certain extent, however the Melbourne EK lounge has reopened in a new location in the last few months with a brand new design that is far removed from the old traditional EK lounge decor that is in most of their lounges.

However I'd still be picking QF F lounge.

A bit O/T, but I've seen a few reports of people encountering problems accessing the EK lounge as, for example, a QF Gold on a QF flight. What's the best way of dealing with this? Cite the lounge access rules?
