is QF509 (Monday 22/3/10) Really sold out? or is it cancelled ?

Hi

Flying on QF509 on Monday (BNE-SYD)

Seatcounter is showing EVERYTHING 0

i have a staff member who i am trying to get on the same flight as me,
I am wondering , is the flight really TOTALLY full ? or have QF cancelled the flight , and not told me "yet" ??

any advise would be greatly appreciated

Hi There,

Just checked the loads of the this particular flight and it shows that there is 0 spare seats in both cabins which you are seeing. The A/C is a 734 (capacity 144 pax) so wouldn't take much to fill up. Being an early morning Monday BNE-SYD, it doesn't surprise me. There could possibly be a sporting group, or large travelling group that has booked on this flight, which it why it could be booked out.

The QF511 that departs 30mins after the 509, is only about 2/3rds full, so there is plenty of space on that one, if that is any better for you.

As a side note, the JQ flight which is operated by a 321 and departs at the same time, is 99% full, so it must be a busy time of the morning

i use this flight every 2nd week, and usually it is pretty full, but hardly EVER this full !
having said that, it usually is a 738 not a 734.

i also noticed the lighter loads on the earlier / later flights, AND noticed the JQ flight being full also.

wonder why QF are using a samller plane on Monday Morning ?

Slightly OT, but on the 29th MAR, what is going on with MEL-SYD in business class?? Alot of flights sold out already.. Something going on in SYD on that day?

Definitely not cancelled but chockers. Nearly 50 pax in groups which would explain being busy and yes it's only a 734 so unless they change it to a 738 which would add another 24 pax I don't things changing.
