I have been looking at 2 one-way awards in J BNE-LAX.

On most days BNE-LAX direct is not available and offerings of BNE-SYD-LAX are made.

The cost is 192000 what I expect but the offer is J BNE-SYD and Y SYD-LAX. The part where you want J is not offered but they still want the full points.

Is this a ploy by QF to rip you off and a glitch in their system. This did not happen previously when I was searching.

Or am I missing something.

Read our AFF credit card guides and start earning more points now.

The way to resolve this is for you to try exit points adjacent to you so start at BNE-LAX and if no go try SYD and finally MEL.
Read the offer to make sure it has not glitched to Y even though you requested J......we all see this glitch from time to time on extra sector bookings on QF.

Happens all the time. Be persistent and ensure you do not accept a Y seat for J points. Keep trying and then call QF. They know about the problem

As for being routed via SYD this is also common and I suspect partly to recoup some cash via fuel fines from extra flights the booking engine offers.
