Anyone flown SYD to coughet in starclass?

How would you rate it?:?::?::?::?:

on par with domestic J or int Y+.
Ok leg room and recline.
I would only buy it for the SCs

The seating is on par with domestic J - the catering certainly isn't!

Flew SYD-HKT with them at Christmas. Had a 1 hour ground delay whiclst they were trying to decide whter to offload a group of drink poms.. in the end the lifted one of (yes lifted, he couldnt walk).

Apart from that bit fo drama, the flight it self was uneventful. Food is standard econ omy food with a meat pie as the second mela service.

It was funny listening to the guy behind... he was telling his wife the sign of a good business class is if the butter is served soft. lol... it came out hard.

But there you go - tjhats what happens when you market PE as J.

For the price (and SC's)- it is great value.

Just don;t expect QF PE or J service/catering.

Everyone has their own take and mine is I think the * class offering is very good for the price. You get all the perks a PE QF traveler gets like noise canceling head phones, blanket (not as good a quality but still a blanket), one of those blow up pillows that wrap around your neck (never used it), toiletries etc. You also get a J domestic type seat which IMO is satisfactory (maybe not as good as PE QF but still nice). For sure the meal service is poles apratrt but what they server you is still nice and I thinkt he meat pie and ice cream as second meal is a clever touch. Unlimited drinks just like QF but no AVOD, their personal TV offering is not as good as QF but I think that is more to do with being able to store content in the units.

I always fly JQ * class from MEL-BKK-MEL instead of QF PE via SYD a) for the extra SC's and points, b) because it is a direct flight and c) because I am satisfied with their product. If you had a choice of both I woudl always recommend JQ * class instead fo PE QF.

You can just do a search here and find heaps of threads but generally its nothing like international business class (but is more or less same as domestic business class) and good vale for money if its a direct route for you. Much like PE really.
Thing is if you get the sale prices i think its great value for some extra comfort.

Thanks for the heads up folks. Think I will run with it for S/C and lounge use if required and the fact is it is direct.

Appreciate the feedback.

Personally I find it good value for money. For sectors like SYD-HNL the seats are fine as is the food (nothing to write home about). I like the J class points & SCs and feel that its worth doing given the asking price.

I'm not sure that I would like those seats for SYD-LAX length sectors but then again that wasn't the question asked.

Dave Noble has flown both QF PE and JQ *Class and seems to prefer JQ *Class, and we all know how picky he can be
