Is it worth flying Emirates F for 3 hours?

Food was very good.

I had Pumpkin soup with potato crisps; smoked chicken with mango jelly, pickled beetroot and blanched asparagus; braised lamb shank with red cabbage, sugar snap peas and roasted pearl onions. Dessert was milk chocolate delice with chocolate shortbread and raspberry coulis.

Then they insisted I have the cheese plate with fruit and a side of apple and cherry cake with vanilla sauce.

As well as copious glasses of Dom they allowed us to do some wine tasting. So we then settled on a red Bordeaux - Château La Mission Haut-Brion 2004, the famous Hennessy Paradis cognac and Graham's 40 year old Tawny Port to close off.

I don’t know how, but somehow I walked off the plane without assistance!

Goldenhorn, had seen this thread and was worried that maybe you might not get the bags with amenities kits, etc. Have done EK F and I love it above all other flying. I am so glad you got a great ride!!!

It is certainly a great use of points for a once in a lifetime experience! :)

(For the record, I am not even sure if I "walked off the flight without assistance" ;) )

So do you think it's worth the points to experience F class on Emirates for the first time, even if it's only 3 hours?

So now you have taken the flight did you think it was worth it? :D

EK PJs and amenities are available to F passengers however on some shorter flights they are not offered and you have to asked for them. It was nice to see that @goldenhorn was just offered them.

I think @goldenhorn is stilling sleeping it off...;)

BTW, did you take a shower?
haha...well I did feel VERY average on Tuesday after so much drinking in a 3 hour period, and of course I had a huge work day to boot.

We did have showers. There was only hubby and one other passenger in F, so it wasn't an issue to have one right after take off before the meal.

We LOVED the shower experience. I know it's a huge novelty factor, but it was so cool and I was laughing the whole time I was in the shower because it was so surreal. Felt amazing afterward as we had left Queenstown and travelled to CHC that morning so a shower was VERY welcome.

So, I've been thinking a lot about this since coming back.

In conclusion, I believe it was totally worth it. I think it's a once-in-a-lifetime kind of experience (but I actually hope it's not as I would love to do long-haul F now!)

It is a lot of points to burn for 2 pax on a 3-hour flight, but we had so much fun and laughter, and the crew was just amazing. They got such a kick from seeing us having a good time and they were egging us on to try everything on offer, and then some.

Also, I surprised my hubby with the F class flight. He didn't know until I walked into the EK F check-in, and he was telling me, "you're in the wrong lane!". His expression when he realised what was going on was priceless.

I can't recall how many times our FA said: "it's all about you tonight!"

For 3 hours, it certainly was. :)

When I did it on the 10h+ flight DXB-PER, I had come from dusty Khartoum, so the shower was a welcome refresher from that - and, realistically, a necessary break from the DOM etc-gargling ;):D.

Just think if you had not been on the short taster flight...;):oops::D.

That’s fantastic. Don’t worry about about the negative people, points are worth different things to different people and I’m glad you had a ball

I did SYD-CHC in EK F with my parents and my brother who visited from overseas last year. We had just gotten married and it was their first time visiting NZ... what a special time! My dad who has flown with a bunch of airlines in business and first, still reminiscences about the flight :), yes may be short, but it seriously was a fantastic experience and a great highlight to their visit.

Ha! Sounds like you had an amazing time.

I would love to take my brother and parents too. My father is such a cynic about flying in premium cabins. I would love to prove him wrong and that would be so much fun! :)

We found a $900 sale fare in F on the AKL-MEL route a couple of years ago. Loved it, we were totally spoilt too. I had a shower simply because I could!
We were soooo disappointed the flight landed 30 minutes early!
