Has anybody checked the price of Emirate tickets to UK in Economy. It is I believe the dearest around.
Is this the reason they made a profit.

If you're talking excluding taxes then they'll always appear to be the most expensive as their YQ tax is included in the fare where other airlines are included in the taxes, so while EK taxes to Europe might be $200, the others are $600-700ish

My mate did some research a few months ago into the best value way to get to Manchester. Emirates were by far the chepest.

(He also looked at flying into LHR and getting to Manchester via train/car.)

Inc taxes for SYD-LHR r/t the lowest EK fare (subject to availability) in Jan is $1732 vs $2277 on QF

on top of that there is only $300 cancellation fee on EK whilst the QF fare is non refundable though is $75 change fee vs QFs $50

Wouldnt call them anywhere near the highest

I surrender, I went to a TA, and Emirates were the dearest. So I checked Best Flights, they also had them at the dearest. Looked at Business $8000. Have seen others a lot cheaper, a friend has just booked Qatar for $5670 Business. Skytrax has Qatar at 5 stars, while Emirates is 4 stars. We used to fly with Emirates a lot, but have found that their standard has dropped. Went SIA to China in August in Economy, and they were great. We are flying to UK next March, so we are looking at this very seriously, and would like to go business. But we will see it depends on cost, Emirates don't seem to be serious!!

Wow... morning economy class, evening business class?:mrgreen:

Perhaps it is just that the cheapest fares on EK are sold out on the specific dates you are looking at

For business class , SK have a decent price at $5940 plus tax , flying Thai to Bangkok and then SK onwards to LHR/LCY
