Forgive me for starting another thread to the two existing ones on the QFF 1 Dec changes, but I thought it's enough of a side topic to discuss separately. Red Roo, perhaps you can clarify while everyone else debates.
The calculator was timing out while I was checking some potential bookings, which drove me to the tables and route definitions. Background: I am investigating a PER-MCO trip and am considering the possibility of the QF codeshares.
Now, in the pre-1-dec 2015 tables, East and West Coast USA are defined as below.

Notably, DFW is on the "west coast".
Post-1-dec:

DFW is missing, and NYC is called out separately along with Boston.
For reference, DFW is in Texas, which Wikipedia describes as "Geographically located in the south central part of the country" . Along with Phoenix, AZ and Las Vegas, NV, there is no coast within hundreds of miles.

So my questions to RedRoo and for debate are:
- Is DFW just missing or will a new region be called out seperately, reflecting the fact that SYD-DFW is currently the longest flight in the world, an hour or 1100km longer than MEL-LAX?
- Should DFW (and really, PHX and LAS) become a new region as they're not really East or West Coast?
Edit: While this is embarassing, I now see DFW has its own segment in the earn tables tables. Guess my Ctrl+F search was on the wrong page!

I guess it would still help to list it as a region on the definitions page too.
Mods, might as well delete/close thread.
