Is BA WT+ worth the extra $700

Personally, I wouldn't pay extra for the WT+ product. It's a slightly bigger seat and that's it. Same food, same service, same everything else. It is not at all comparable to the QF product.

There is a slight chance that you would sleep better, but only slight.

Perhaps put the $700 towards a nicer hotel at the other end :)

I actually think it is worth it. Less people in the cabin, extra leg room. Basically if you arent Gimli then its worth it.

Agree WT+ is not worth the extra, unless you can book it as a code share with QF metal being QF Y+;)

One advantage is WT+ is it's between J and F on 747 (52 bus config) this makes it a quiet cabin for sleeping

and extra SC's and miles. Depending on fare they book the european sector in business class.

I have paid it, three times in the last year, and given the choice of QF or BA Y and BA Y+ I would probably do it again. It's the leg room, and also seat power. (Although I think this is available now on the QF 380s.)

It is a pretty big step down from QF Y+, and from my experiences the service was pretty poor on the majority of sectors flown. :-|

I agree with Simon, I'd pay $700 (but not alot more) for the quieter cabin and slightly more legroom and seat width.

I think it's worth a premium over Y. As stated it's a bit more seat width (2-4-2 vs. 3-4-3) and pitch (~38 inch vs. ~31), in-seat power and not a lot more (and apparently not a patch on QF Y+, but obviously not as exxy), but definitely more comfortable than Y for a long haul flight.

Just how much extra it is worth is a personal thing I guess.

I think it's definitely worth the extra if it's only $700! Wider seat, 38" legroom, and less people in the cabin.

Pity it often costs a lot more than $700 extra most of the time.

I'd probably pay $700. But, as a cabin it is a huge let-down.

Better than Y definitely, but not by much.

Personally I try and avoid BA where possible.

As I have to go via BKK (work/friends) on my trips to Europe I prefer the Club World offer over the Skybeds at the moment. As soon as QF introduce the A380 on this route that will change

+1, if you can get the QF metal.

It comes down to how much you value the extra space, legroom and recline. If you can sleep ok in Y, then perhaps not as much benefit.

For me flying in premium cabins is about the complete experience, so WT+ just doesn't cut it.

If you can get on QF for that money, for sure. On BA, just worth it.

Sorry I am a newbie what do you mean by Qantas metal?
It will be a BA flight and the $700 is to upgrade to WT+ for one way only. I am a QSilver

Sorry I am a newbie what do you mean by Qantas metal?

Codeshare flight, flight is sold by BA with BA flight # but operated by QF plane (aka metal).

Might be mumbo jumbo at first, but hang around and soon it becomes second nature :)

$700 is pretty good value for long haul so I would take it. Anything to make the trip in y more comfortable

Would an exit row in Y be a lot more cost effective? You lose a bit of width, but gain pitch. The catering and services are identical. Although I guess you would pay for it if you are a few SCs short on reaching SG or WP.
