A PASSENGER plane carrying 150 people has crashed in northwest Iran.
The Caspian Airlines plane was heading to Tehran to the Armenian capital Yerevan and crashed near the city of Qazvin, the Associated Press reported.

UP to 169 people onboard a passenger plane that crashed in northwest Iran are feared dead, ISNA news agency reports.
"153 passengers along with 16 crew were on the plane that crashed," ISNA said.

The Caspian Airlines plane was travelling from Tehran to Yerevan in Armenia when it came down at 11:33 am, (5.03pm AEST), near the city of Qazvin, the offician news agency, IRNA, said.
