Is there a reason we have to use the "AFF" Application (which is just a re-branded Tapatalk) and not simply add this forum to Tapatalk? I already have Tapatalk and use it for other forums, and it's annoying having to have one more app that really is a duplicate.
Searching for the forum name "Australian Frequent Flyer" and even just the word "Frequent" or "Flyer" in Taptalk hasn't found anything.
While the AFF app is available to all right now as part of a free trial, there was a time, and it’ll likely go back to this, where the app was only for Silver and Gold subscribers to the site. This was due to the app not displaying ads, which are a revenue source for the site.
Allowing everyone to use the Tapatalk app, regardless of if they’re Silver or Gold subscribers would mean less revenue from ads that keep the site funded.
Last I heard, the iOS 4 software is able to store hundreds of apps, and with folders it’s very easy not to even have to click more than twice to open an app, so I can’t imagine 2-into-1 will make much of a difference.
Additionally, when Tapatalk was first being tested the site could be found, so I can log on through it because it’s been "saved" into the app, but I do know it’s been hidden now. Also, the usefulness of having a separate app is that
admin can add or remove the features he wants to better work with the site. While using the generic app means some things might not work and that would reflect poorly on the site (although admittedly there are a few bugs).
