Jetstar flight safety questioned, staff not trained for emergency

A Jetstar training captain and former air-accident investigator has raised concerns about safety standards at the low-cost airline, saying some cabin crew are not properly trained for emergencies and its safety department is not adequately resourced.

Ridiculous is not a word that even glimmers into existence as sufficient descriptor...

A gripe about not having a computer is what I could distill from this most unremarkable reporting.

It is the usual posturing when any regulatory review is underway

2 things:

(1) From the amount of flying I have done as a passenger I know how to arm and disarm doors (and crosscheck).

(2) I am surprised that an employee of jetstar would be able to publicly compain the way this chap has done and still remain employed. If I publicly berated my employer the way he has done I would be terminated. He doesn't come across as a loyal employee - he is probably better working for ATSB etc rather than a commercial airline.
