The QFF points didn't come off my account, although the credit card available limit has changed (to around about the total of the taxes), although there isn't a pending charge. The flight is with Jetstar. We want to cancel. Any advice here or does anybody know what's going on?

Hopefully Jetstar does. Have you called them? If so, what was their position?

I haven't called Jetstar because I made the booking through QANTAS, using QFF points. And I thought it might be better to ask here rather than spend hours on the phone with call centres....

Calling the carrier with your PNR may be a quicker path, just a suggestion.

Flight isn’t until mid April, so might leave it another week before calling. In the meantime, somebody here may know the deal. The QFF points never came off the account and I never received an email with booking confirmation, but it shows up under MY BOOKINGS on Qantas as ‘processing’. At time of booking, gave the credit card details and it has taken the amount but there isn’t a pending transaction. Lastly, I logged into the Jetstar website using booking number and it says we need to contact them to make payment (and the THB amount is considerably higher than when we made the booking. Much higher than a small change in fx).

Yeah, that means it hasn't ticketed yet. I've seen this a few times over the past few months. Either it will ticket by itself within a week or two, or it will never ticket and won't be resolved unless you call up.

I would say if you intend to cancel, you might be be able to just leave it (although I have no idea what happens if it's not ticketed by departure date)

I was thinking this, but Murphy’s law, if I leave it, they may take the points and taxes (seeing I initially gave them my credit details) closer to the date of the flight

in case anybody is interested, this 'processing' booking has moved forward overnight and I can now make changes or cancel it (received booking confirmation email and QFF points subtracted from account) although the charge hasn't gone onto the credit card yet
