This weekend we will launch a digital media trial in selected Qantas International Lounges, allowing customers to download complimentary newspapers via Pressreader and magazines via Zinio to their mobile device. Customers can then access these downloaded publications on their devices while inflight.

The trial will run for three months in the following international Lounges: Sydney First and Business; Melbourne First and Business; Singapore; Auckland First and Business; and Wellington Business. Flyers will be available in the Lounges to advise customers of the process and steps they need to take to enjoy this offering.

Looking forward to hearing of your experiences using this service. :)

Will the available publications be limited by geographical location? I was quite keen on a copy of the Dominion Post flying from SYD-WLG yesterday however only the Herald was available. Be nice if I could select publication X even when at airport Y.

VA has been doing this for six months or so, and they make the full PressReader library available. So you can download the Washington Post from the Perth lounge or the Jerusalem Post from the OOL lounge. I'd be surprised if QF's offer was significantly different.

In the Singapore lounge now and I can't find any reference to this. But I expect the "this weekend" means Saturday and not Friday evening.

My hotel is also trialling this. All I have to do is connect my mobile to the Wifi and download the Pressreader app. I then open up the app, and the newspapers are available for free download (with no login etc). Perhaps try that.

I will now add the Pressreader app to the other media readers I have, and will give it a try in a few weeks. I do like a well stocked iThing.

Not sure what is required to trial.

Does this mean that the physical papers will no longer be loaded?

Having used press reader since VA introduced the service on a permanent basis, I really don't miss physical papers.
