International lounge access in Sydney - temporary changes

Just be aware that apparently the SQ lounge has been know to try and redirect people to the NZ lounge when they are not flying on SQ, so you may need to be a little persistent

That may be difficult if the Koru is shut! In any case, AP just has to put the best paw forward and demand an Asian inspired banquet (which is not available in the Koru Kamp ;))

*A rules allow access on a Business class ticket

I'd say you tick all the boxes.

I might also be in this boat with a NZ J flight, but am unsure of whether a reward fare class has been applied to my ticket, and I can't retrieve it online. Does anyone have any experience of which trans-tasman business class codes NZ use for rewards? Velocity has NZ codes as C, D, J and Z.

Can you select a business class seat online?

If you are in business class, no matter what the fare bucket, full or reward or otherwise, that puts you in business class with both VA or NZ, lounge access is generally available before the business flight.

I'd have to get the NZ pnr from virgin for seat selection. The fare was originally booked as a reward via VA, however since the itinerary has changed all fare rules have gone missing so I can't ascertain the booking class. Wondered if folks here had this info or experience.
Happy enough to use the NZ lounge, but would much prefer SQ (hence trying to get my ducks in line ;)

You could always just try.
Just waltz in with a/the boarding pass!
Many years ago, I was with Ansett Global Rewards, (still feel bad about it-it was just about few days before they went kaput), I was travelling on a Reward Z class fare with GR, flying SQ Z (J really), and had access to the ADL (old international terminal at ADL airport), and then the SQ lounge at SIN.
You can only try.
If you find your tix does not mention VA at all, all the better, because at first glance, its all only related to *A. Seeing VA is not in *A.
My tix was booked with NZ, and NZ & SQ being full *A members, if all goes well, I will get my dream access to the SK lounge at SYDi.
If I get turned back, then its the temp KC lounge.
But I would certainly try the SK lounge first.
Of course, this is pure supposition, unless someone has tried it and comes on here to say it positively is possible. Access to SK lounge on VA J/C/D or NZ J/C/D while the KC lounge is out of bounds.
Laksa/mee rebus/beef rendang/chinese meat buns/shaio mai/... mmm

I am sure you know what the desserts of Singapore/Malaysia are like.
Utterly sweetly delish, but fattening too.
Its all a learning experience anyway.

I can't argue with that!

Actually, what I like the most about Asian restaurants are the buffet breakfasts with the wonderful variety of delicious fresh tropical fruits! Loove those breakfasts.....(actually, I love most Asian food in fact).

1530 hrs on a Thurs afternoon and there is a grand total of 7 guests in here. Quiet time.
