Hi,

Does anyone know of any international flights from BNE to another Australian port ?

Idea being is to do all the security/border control stuff in Bne; jump on an international flight to say SYD/MEL; and catch your overseas flight from there - thus not having to do the security thing down there - you just transit through the southern port.

i remember many years ago getting a domestic flight once from Bne to SYD i think, on an international flight that was transiting through BNE, and it terminated in SYD. If i can i would like top do a similar thing if i can.

QF20 used to depart from international BNE-SYD once a week? QF52 a few years before used to do same thing.

Also I believe QF8 used to do the same thing occasionally.

Think you'll find there's nothing now.

Very occasionally Jetstar run a 787 flight from BNE-SYD as a continuation of JQ58 or JQ6. Haven't seen this for a while now though. There also used to be an OOL-SYD flight on a JQ 787 on Fridays, I think, that arrived and departed from the international terminals.

Transiting from domestic to international in Sydney is problematic. (Transit DOM-SYD at MEL is better though the long haul sector will therefore be longer if travelling in Y)
There is a Risk of misconnecting also due to BNE-SYD arriving late for the international flight.

Some airlines sell a VALID ticket BNE-SYD-xx_ with a transit time of 1 hour in SYD - this is impossible. Suggest minimum 3 hours.

This is what made me wonder about these flight offers. i think I'll make sure a get an earlier flight, and give myself 3 or 4 hours on the ground, to transit, check-in; and maybe relax with a quick drink in the lounge. Thanks for the advice.

If you only had a boarding pass showing BNE-SYD (for example) I think you'd probably be treated like a domestic pax and not "properly" processed for international anyway.
