International Data Only Sim Cards

Hi all.
I have been given one of those portable wifi routers thingies to use on a couple of overseas trips I have coming up. New Zealand, USA, Canada. I have been told it is Unlocked.
Using Dr Google I can see you can buy sim cards online before you leave Australia. Has anyone done this and do you have a reputable supplier you can recommend. I only want to use it so I can use my laptop or slip the device into my pocket to use google maps and book an uber etc (low usage)
Any other suggestions welcomed

Yes...all the time. I have used Best International Travel Sim Cards | SimsDirect. to get sim card before I leave. I have also used Klook (Google Klook Sim card) who provide destination airport pick up. Not saying they are the cheapest but much cheaper than roaming fees incl the Vodafone $5 a day roaming fee. I also buy local SIM cards on arrival if I don't need them straight away.

I've bought phone sims from eurosims.com.au before when they've had discounts on ozbargain. I'm not aware of any current discount offers at the moment though. They do they data only sims too.

We used Buy before you fly! With Travel PrePaid Sim Cards from SoEasyTravel for our sim to Europe at Christmas worked fantastically
