Just starting to think about Xmas 2011 and we were thinking about overseas locations for Xmas - preferably somewhere cold and christmassy.

Looking for J class flights and possibly somewhere that we can use Hilton points.

Half tempted by NYC but not sure on flights and hotel over that period...

Any suggestion?

For the NY flights we thought about JAL J class via Tokyo...

Come join us in Beijing before we head off to Tibet ;)

It'll be snowing and cold, there's a choice of Hilton properties and you can J from SYD

There - simple LOL

If I were thinking about taking JAL flights anyway then I'd try and be in Japan for Christmas so I could line up at KFC for the locals as is Christmas tradition. But that is just me.

I'll be skiing with the family in Frisco, Colorado, then golfing in Palm Desert, California over New Years.

Just booked 4 "J" class BNE - LAX tickets for early Dec, barely have enough pts for the return flights, will book those in a few wks when they become available.

The problem with NYC at Christmas is that it really is peak season and hotel prices are high.As well snow can not be quaranteed. We spent 2 white christmasses in the area-1 at a cabin in the Poconos with our son and his then soon to be fiancee. The second was a lodge in the Adirondacks with extended family-11 all up-sheer magic.
However a stay in NYC leading up to Christmas is a must do.
