Interesting take on Duty Free

For many (infrequent) travellers it's like a rite of passage.

Sometimes I glance at what's available bur rarely ... generally when on a carrier I travel not that often with ...

I was under the impression it's quite lucrative for the FA's as the commissions can be quite high.

Well I got a 40E voucher from Finnair for inoperative IFE last week so mrsdrron got a couple of duty free items.
Has happened on a couple of other flights in the past.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

My in flight duty free expenditure seems to be directly linked to my alcohol consumption. :p

Now where is that night vision gadget..........?

Mine seems to be linked to how bored I am, like watching very late night tv infomercials.

My on board duty free purchases are roughly in proportion to the amount of service recovery vouchers the FAs manage to hand out.

After one trip from the states to HKG, Mrs WF lucked out with the perfume sampler. And I had my MP3 player to make up for the lost IFE.

Happy wandering

Fred

Last year Mrs. Bolt and I received $300SGD inflight vouchers on SQ due to or Y+ seats not being available on a flight from PVG-SIN. Came in very handy...

I have a draw full of duty free watches Mrs Lime purchased over the years while in flight, she's stopped now than heavens :)

I'm hoping I'm not the only one but does anyone else buy the model planes from inflight duty free? I know their a rip off but their cool trinkets to have around my home office I think.

No not at all, many years ago it was a hobby; still have them displayed in my second "den". Many are collectors items as the main producer Schaback went out of business a while back. they used to make them for many airlines often in multipacks of up to 6. plane1.jpgplane2.jpgplane3.jpg

Few carriers in the images can be identified,,,QF, SQ, JL, Swiss, Continental (gone), Air Pacific (new name)
