Call centre had me in 2D for first flight CNS-TSV and I chose 1F for the TSV-BNE flight. :(

Sorry to hear that it looks like you may have got a late substitute from an ATR72 to an E190 for the CNS-TSV leg, as for the TSV-CNS leg being an E190 instead of a B737 that is a bit unusual as well - but when you booked the flights originally, what were the operating aircraft then?

As others have said - the on line seat selection isn't as good as it could be, and once the E190 proper business fitout is complete then I think you would be a happier camper, until then the E190 online seat selection is going to be a complete cough shoot for y passengers seeking exit rows and for J passengers.

It does not help that I paid for business class on 1 flight and used my complimentary upgrade on another and I get to experience economy.

Wouldn't it have been much better to purchase discount economy?

Did you actually change or select / confirm the allocations you were given.

It has been noted on this forum that default allocations often do not stick - you need to actually select and maybe reselect seats for a much higher probability of retaining the allocation.
And to confuse me even more there were only 2 people in business class, 2A and 2F, so it makes no sense why the seat allocations were changed in the first place. I was encouraged by CSM to sit in front row.

But it is quite obvious that people do not care about the seats they are allocated otherwise there would be more complaints.
