Had a rather interesting experience yesterday. Got to Paris to check in for CDG to LHR to JFK. Noticed seat change on LHR to JFK sector once she gave me boarding passes she was easily able to change it back. Walking to the security area my eye caught a boarding time that was later than my flight due to depart and that is when I noticed new flight no. I went back to desk and it transpired that (she thinks about 5 hours before the first flight) Qantas arbitrarily changed the flight because there was a duplicate booking. Qantas chose to put me on the later one. I had pre selected meal too so the PNR was certainly live and of course no notification from Qantas.
Check in manager sent a note to BA asking for me to be put back on original flight. Had to wait about 20 mins but BA agreed to do this with the seat I had originally reserved. Luggage retrieved and new tags added to reflect new flight.
Bizarre, annoying but kudos to BA check in staff who helped as I could see the amount of work they had to do.

Glad it was all sorted out - aren't the BA staff at CDG amazing!
I love their little underground check in area with the direct access to airside as well!

Well after all that I got points and status credits for the LHR to CDG leg. Hmmm ethical dilemma here.....
