Thanks Mal,
could someone please post especially if they have an early entry link? Thanks in advance!

Could be good for a few long weekends this year.
Keep fingers crossed they are good prices. The other sale was ok, but not really any better than i get booking in advance on my corp rates sometimes depending on hotel.

Crowne Plaza from USD $99 and Holiday Inn from USD 69 (and PC members get in a day early)

thanks again mel - do you have info on what hotels are participating in asia?? the links just go to the "you are too early' page...please post when they list them! thanks in advance again mel!

This could be useful for when I have my AKL-SIN run. Hotels in SIN cost a fortune  (unless you're staying in Geylang).

Actually I saw a CP deal in SIN that offered 1000 extra PC points (convertible to airline miles if desired), but it's the CP Changi. :-|

I think you can still get the Ibis on Bencoolen rather cheaply, and it has free internet also. It's rather new and decent enough from what I've heard.

Rates are ok at the moment, a bit less demand recently, I also like for free internet the Gallery Hotel in robertson quay, walk to clark quay as well :)
HI parkview or the IC were my 2 regular hotels though.

Yeah, decent enough. Few niggling things I don't like about it though. Will update another thread about it in due course.

Meh. Ibis is Ibis - clean simplicity without elegance. HI goes a little step on top of that. CP another step on top again.

Sale site is available (at least for PC members). Prices are funny. Checked 30 May IC Singapore and could have 1 KING CLUB 38 SQM NONSMOKING for S$316 but advance purchase rate is only S$192 and best flexible S$320. Will check back later.

Once again I can't find any good deals (<1500HKD) on the IC HKG from this sale, just like the recent one a couple of months back. Not to worry though.

Normal rooms at IC Singapore should be available at $200-230 depending on day of the week. Thats not a sale period, just 5 or 10 days advance purchase.

And what is wrong with hotels in Geylang? They get criticised unfairly, mainly by people who have not stayed there, offer good friendly service and provide good value accommodation at a budget price....

Can't say i have stayed at any hotels there but the area is ok.
And i am not talking about the girls but its really not as bad as everybody thinks.

I guess I've unwittingly pushed the negative stereotype associated with the area but having said that it is pretty much true that if you wanted to find a good deal on accommodation at any given time in SIN, it would be in Geylang.

I ended up booked a room at the HI Park View - ~SGD 120 after adding all the taxes etc. Not too bad.

I think the area is great. It has reasonable food, I actually like it, and sit down at one of the bar/food complexes, no girls unless you go to expensive Karaoke bars, on Geyland Road and have a few cold Carlsbergs, OK the beer is not cold until you put lots of ice in your glass and even then it melts quickly, watching English Premier League soccer. It is very relaxing with an exciting atmosphere.

Saturday or Sunday night in Geylang is one of the things I miss the most since I stopped the trips to Thailand....
