From the discussion - the hub system has to remain (we can't do without it), and IATA is an industry association... they are adept at painting the picture to maximise government assistance.

Airlines are complaining about lack of demand... yet the QF CEO says there is pent up demand. So the industry 'story' is inconsistent, at best.
