What are people's thoughts on the safety / certainty / risks of flying through Doha in December / January?

We just returned this morning from our 4th “CGK” run to Europe ex SYD. 2x CX and 2x QR. Plus now booked again for next year (another QF/CX combo).

We normally o/n each way at CGK but due to change of plans, had our first same day transit (separate tickets) experience yesterday CX/QF which went well - apart from the very long layover. Details here:

Has anyone had recent experience transiting CGK T3 on seperate tickets but luggage checked through?

We’ll be returning from Europe in September. Originally booked QR with o/n before QF home but cancelled QR just after the bombs started and snagged CX for not much more but will arrive and depart CGK same day (plenty of buffer).

We’re expecting to have to “enter” CGK, collect bags and recheck. Fortunately, QF has “early checkin” a bit earlier than the common hard 3 hr checkin opening time but there could be some painful twiddling of thumbs waiting for that (won’t be first time we’ve...

Decided to do that.
Only to discover the direct Batik flights PER-CGK on Saturday as shown on google flights are an AI hallucination.

There are indirect flights with a Lion Air/Batik via DPS. At least for the dates I checked in November.

Yes there are, and they are a lot more expensive which defeats the purpose of booking them to reposition to pick up the cheap QR flights ex CGK to Paris.

Sorry I got confused… I just checked 1” October and the non-stop Batik is there. $580 eco and $1370 in business.

Roundtrip slightly better priced at just under $1000 for economy.

Cheaper through OTAs such as booking.com… but don’t necessarily recommend using them… there might be others.

I don't think it exists on Saturday 5 December though!
Friday the 4th does.
