According to the flight schedules on AirAsia's website there will be a direct DPS-MEL-DPS from Dec 22, flying 5 times a week.

Nothing showing up for SYD yet, if at all.

Launch fares to possibly go on sale soon? When it does, I predict the Jetstar price beat call centre will be busy, or should I say online chat centre.

It's probably not surprising Jetstar has had a few sales to Bali recently, with another one starting today.

This route is going to be a bloodbath next year. I don't think JQ are making much profit on $199 fares and now there's a new competitor. I think VA will reduce services- no ones going to pay a premium to go on a 737 with no IFE.

I think $189/199 will be the standard sale price for JQ and XT rather than a super special sale price.

PER-SIN couldn't support 4 carriers, I doubt MEL-DPS can.

I did a Jetstar price beat on an air asia flight price and I also got to select which flight of the day I wanted on jetstar and not the closest to the price beat 9pm flight

Excluding any status benefits do people prefer JQ to D7 (or equiv)? Are they that much different in terms of comfort and experience or would you just choose it if it was 10% cheaper.

If they do $99 launch fares like I expect they will bring on JQ44 for $89.10! Its a perfect DPS-MEL flight time IMO

Agree. I've only ever done an over night flight from Bali and hated it it every time.

JQ44 looks like a great time.

Is this going to be operated by an a330 with lie flat beds in business? That'd get my money, especially for the overnight flights back. Lounge access is pretty cheap to buy in DPS I believe.

Maybe this will see a service upgrade from JQ in the long term? I think they should at least remove one row from StarClass and have increased leg-room, or maybe even consider a new angled lie flat (which they could take from QF)

No you cant.

You can add meals etc but not the starter plus
